๐Ÿค” About This Site

Why Does
This Exist?

Because the most extraordinary stories ever told are completely true, and most science communication makes them sound like a terms and conditions page.

The Honest Mission Statement

Science is the most successful method humans have ever invented for understanding reality. It has given us vaccines, smartphones, GPS, MRI machines, and the knowledge that you share 60% of your genome with a banana. It is also, frequently, communicated in a way that makes people want to lie down on the floor.

WTFScience exists to fix the communication problem. Not by simplifying the science โ€” we don't do that โ€” but by presenting it with the energy and irreverence it deserves. Quantum mechanics is genuinely hilarious if you think about it long enough. CRISPR is legitimately terrifying. Tardigrades are objectively absurd. We are just reporting what is already there.

Every article on this site covers real, peer-reviewed, published science. Every headline is an accurate summary. The comedy isn't a wrapper for dumbed-down content โ€” it's how we process the completely unhinged reality we all live in.

How We Operate

๐Ÿ“„

Every Claim Is Sourced

If we say tardigrades can survive 5,700 Gy of radiation, that number came from a paper. We don't make things up. The universe does that for us.

๐Ÿงช

Real Science Only

No astrology. No 'quantum healing.' No anti-vax nonsense. Peer-reviewed research in recognised journals. We take the science seriously even when we're laughing at it.

๐Ÿ˜‚

Comedy Is the Delivery Mechanism

Dry, pompous science communication puts people to sleep. We think reality is genuinely hilarious and we're going to make you feel that way too.

๐Ÿšซ

Zero Clickbait

The headlines are outrageous because the facts are outrageous. We never need to exaggerate. We are, if anything, understating things.

Ready to Be Confused?

The universe is 13.8 billion years old and has been doing unhinged things the entire time. You have some catching up to do.
